Burberry is quite literally giving its check pattern a new spin. The British fashion house has envisioned its iconic print as a mesmerizing animation, using visual trickery rooted in 19th-century techniques.
Shared on social media over the weekend, the kinetic artwork moves as it grooves, playing Liquid’s 1992 rave anthem Sweet Harmony while morphing the classic Burberry check into a hypnotic spiral.
Conceptualized by phenakistoscope artist Drew Tetz, the vinyl depicts the check transforming thanks to carefully calculated optical illusions embedded in the print.
Another remix—for the lack of a better word or sound—brings Burberry’s equestrian knight logo to life, recasting a time-honored emblem in fluid motion.
Heritage, as it turns out, doesn’t always sit still. It’s not just about wearing Burberry. It’s about seeing it in motion, hearing it, and holding it.
