teamLab Is Building A Whole Museum To House Its Famed CG Artworks In Abu Dhabi

Japanese digital art collective teamLab is landing in the Middle East. The creator of the famed immersive light exhibits is opening a new museum in Abu Dhabi, set to stand out from the rest with multisensory experiences.
teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi will be located on Saadiyat Island and the museum will open its doors in 2024.
The exclusively-designed building will house an everchanging landscape of digital art that will encourage visitors to interact with it. Experimental artwork produced by teamLab’s collaborative network of artists, engineers, programmers, CG animators, architects, and even mathematicians will bring to life a completely new way of exploring a museum.
Every visitor embarks on their own unique journey that changes with each new visit. The exhibit is said to be inspired by the phenomenon of how an environment impacts the life within it, posing an interactive exhibit that will change organically as people pass through and touch it.
According to the founder of teamLab, Toshiyuki Inoko, even if it gets destroyed, if the environment remains unchanged the artwork will heal.
The objective was to permeate the concept of existence by introducing an evolutionary landscape of art that flows and ebbs the same way life does.
The chairman of the Abu Dhabi Prince Court, Theyab bin Mohammed Bin Zayed, officially announced the new museum, which will be sat right between the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. In order to celebrate the announcement of the new project, DCT Abu Dhabi has announced a preview of the exhibit that visitors can explore from June 24 to July 17.
