‘Please, Touch The Artwork’ Is A Zen Puzzle Game That Encourages Getting Grabby

Admirers of art, or folks who must press a button every time they see one, could feel like kids in a candy shop with a new chill game by one-man studio Studio Waterzooi. The premise of Please, Touch The Artwork—supposedly “inspired by real events”—is exactly as it sounds: You have to prod that Mondrian to win.
Museum rules don’t exist in this world. To progress to the next level, players will need to get their hands busy with renditions of prized modern art by the likes of Piet Mondrian, Wassily Kandinsky, and Kazimir Malevich. Each art style has its own gameplay, which isn’t expressly explained—your innate nosiness should get you there.
Thomas Waterzooi, the lone developer of Please, Touch The Artwork, notes that there are over 160 levels in the game spanning three stories.
As the game progresses, levels can get seriously challenging, Polygon reports—but they are never stressful. There’s no time limit, and when players are stuck, they can simply ask for a hint or restart.
To promote the game, Waterzooi created a duo of real-world art installations, according to The Gamer. The first artwork, bearing the same title as the game, is a real-life version of Please, Touch The Artwork. The other, Landscape Artist Without Landscape, invites people to create an artwork for a landscape artist.
Please, Touch The Artwork is available for PCs on Steam and itch.io for US$9.99, as well as iOS and Android devices for US$3.99.
