Warmer days are around the corner, but what should one do if being in the outdoors to soak up the sun’s goodness isn’t so much of a possibility? The folks of TikTok seem to have the solution: this one-stop “iPhone editing hack” that promises the look of sun-kissed skin during golden hour.
In a new string of videos, spotted by Mashable, iOS users have been faithfully taking a new smartphone photo-editing formula as gospel for altering images shot in bright, natural light, without changing any variables. By trusting the process, they’re left with cozy selfies that could make you forget about the cold.
Relying on the default iOS photo editor, users first blow out the image’s exposure and brilliance all the way at their maximum. Sounds iffy? Well, fret not, as additional work is done on the photo’s highlights, shadows, saturation, black point, vibrance, and so on, before reducing the exposure, to finally create a warm and subtle illumination.
User @anaugazz’s video is one of the more popular posts centered around this trick, and its effects have been backed up by several other creators.
