Serena Williams is one to make an impression during matches. The professional tennis player, who has amassed close to US$89 million in prize money, dazzled once again at this year’s Wimbledon Championships.
Wimbledon has a strict all-white dress code, but Williams pushed the competition’s limits in an outfit with waist cutouts, gold hoop earrings, and most notably—a Nike ‘Swoosh’ shaped out of 34 gold Swarovski crystals.
The number 34 holds significance, as it was the age that the 37-year-old last won Wimbledon.
The tennis star tied the look together with glittery nail polish and a quilted white headband branded with the Nike logo.
Williams won her first-round singles match at the event on Tuesday despite a months-long knee injury, and will proceed to compete alongside Andy Murray at the mixed doubles match on Thursday.
Serena Williams' Nike swoosh (aka 'broosh') on her Wimbledon dress is made of 34 Swarovski crystals and that's the only reason I'm going to predict she wins it this year.— Noah Higgins-Dunn (@higginsdunn) July 2, 2019
