KFC Turns Tweets Dissing Its Tasteless Fries Into Advertising Gold
By Izza Sofia, 05 Nov 2018
Creative agency Mother—which created KFC’s amusing FCK ad—returns with a witty new campaign titled, ‘Ain’t No Small Fry’. Here, the brand uses tweets by peeved customers to highlight its new French fry recipe. The updated fries are said to be “chunkier, tastier and better.”
The main tweet reads, “Dear KFC, no one likes your fries. Yours sincerely, the entire world.” Other Twitter users have also spotted the fast food chain promoting additional tweets online that have been mocking its fries.
One reads, “I’ve got to say, KFC are riding solely on their chicken because Christ, those are crap fries,” while another decalres, “How can KFC be so good at chicken and so bad at fries?”
Burger King joined in the fun after noticing the weird promotion and responded, “Weird flex but ok.”
The ‘Ain’t No Small Fry’ campaign displays the negative tweets across different advertising channels. Te updated fries are touted to be a worthy companion to KFC’s ‘Finger Lickin’ Good’ chicken.
