Lululemon Teams Up With Principal Dancer For ‘The Royal Ballet Collection’
By Yoon Sann Wong, 11 Oct 2018
Canadian athletic apparel retailer Lululemon has rolled out a limited edition ‘The Royal Ballet Collection’, specially designed in collaboration with Francesca Hayward, Principal Dancer at The Royal Ballet of London.
“I wanted to create clothes that I felt had never existed before. The perfect combination of sport and dance wear,” explained Hayward on Lululemon’s website.
The 17-piece capsule comprises graceful layers that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also functional with Hayward’s practical, first-hand inputs. These include leggings and bras, lightweight leotards (US$78), dancer tanks (US$68) and leg warmers (US$58).
In a press statement, Hayward commented, “I love how the collection feels strong but feminine in its shape, how the clothes feel against my skin and how I am free to move and dance in them with no restrictions.”
The collection is supported by a campaign captured and filmed by Craig McDean and Masha Vasyukova.
