eBay Mocks Amazon And Its Famous ‘Prime Day’ With Rival, Head-To-Head Offer

Amazon’s annual ‘Prime Day’ is just around the corner—four days to be exact—but that hasn’t stopped competitor eBay from throwing shade by way of its latest offer, which goes head-to-head with the e-commerce company.
In its ‘eBay Deals’ ad, created by 72andSunny, the brand publicizes its more than 100 deals at US$119—the same price as an annual Amazon Prime membership.
Suzy Deering, CMO for San Jose, California-based eBay Americas, explained that clever consumers want to make the most of their US$119. Rather than spending it on Amazon Prime membership, shoppers can take up eBay’s myriad offers with free shipping and no membership required.
In the other corner of the court, Amazon’s 2018 ‘Prime Day’ that starts on 16 July will run for six hours more than last year, totaling 36 hours through 17 July.
