London-based interior designer and mother Emma Palmer called out Disney when she came across a children’s T-shirt with the words, “Shoes speak louder than words” plastered boldly on its front.
The Cinderella-inspired tee, which can be found on Disney Store UK’s website, also has hearts and a blue high heel printed on it.
Palmer posted a photo of it to Facebook, saying, “I saw this embarrassment of a T-shirt at the Disney store in Westfield yesterday, aimed at young girls... This is just everything that is wrong with messaging to girls in a nutshell.”
“It’s 2018... Surely it is widely recognized that the content of your mind and words you speak are WAAAAAY more important than your f------ shoes!”
According to BuzzFeed, Palmer hopes that her message is not taken lightly or as a joke.
“The messages you give to a girl should be about what they’re thinking, their intelligence, and what they have to say—not what they look like,” she told the website.
