BlackBerry Ditches Its Iconic Keyboard For Its Latest Flagship Smartphone
By Izza Sofia, 10 Oct 2017
BlackBerry has killed off its iconic physical keyboard.
The smartphone company has revealed its new device called Blackberry Motion, and it was officially announced at the GITEX Technology Week in Dubai on Sunday.
The phone boasts specs including a 5.5-inch display, 12 megapixel camera, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a generous 4000mAh battery. The Motion is made for professional users, and is loaded with BlackBerry’s signature business and security-oriented apps.
It is also moderately priced at US$460. The new device will not be immediately available in the US, though. The BlackBerry Motion will only be available in “select markets” initially, namely “Middle Eastern markets like the UAE and Saudi Arabia.”
BlackBerry has formed a partnership with Chinese company TCL, a budget manufacturer which released the BlackBerry KeyOne earlier this year. Both companies hope the Motion will be the start of a line that would attract more business customers.
