Fox News Drops Its Iconic ‘Fair And Balanced’ Slogan
By Izza Sofia, 16 Jun 2017
Fox News confirmed that it will no longer be using the slogan “Fair & Balanced”.
The tagline was introduced by the US channel’s founder, Roger Ailes, when he set up the company in 1996.
A new motto will take its place in official marketing materials: “Most Watched. Most Trusted”. Insiders suggested that the slogan is being binned partly because it is too closely associated with Ailes, who was fired in August amid a sexual harassment scandal.
Apart from the sex scandal, the news channel was also tied to racial discrimination as people in the network started voicing out.
A Fox News spokesperson confirmed that the network is dropping the slogan but said the branding change would not affect programming or editorial decisions.
