IKEA’s Line Of Fragrances Will Have Your House Smelling Of Yummy Cinnamon Rolls
By Izza Sofia, 13 Jun 2017
Affordable furniture giant IKEA is partnering with Byredo—a fragrance house—to offer a limited-edition collection of home scents.
According to IKEA’s blog, the collaboration aims to get people to reconsider the way they think about smell in the home. Gorham explained, “I feel people just don't reflect enough when it comes to scent, but smell is a very relevant part of our life and also the home”.
“To collaborate on this idea of ‘invisible design’ with IKEA, getting people to think about smell is very exciting. It creates a sense of comfort and security. We seldom speak of it and I think this project enforces that as well: getting people to think about smell”, Byredo founder Ben Gorham said on the blog.
Considering smell is the sense linked most closely with memory, it is a seemingly obvious choice to include it in home decor. And since Byredo is known for fragrances that smell as chic as they look, the new affordable line will be the perfect addition to any room in your house.
Sadly, you will have to wait until 2019 to get your hands on the collection. There are few details, but we do know that there will be some sort of cinnamon-bun scent, which is famously known for wafting through the hallways of IKEA stores in Sweden.
